I teach a second-year university course called "Expository Prose" that I inherited from someone who gradually made it something known informally now as "Creative Nonfiction." I'm moving it back toward what I think is the angle on nonfiction you and Brian Fawcett prefer: write accurately and clearly about something meaningful, without obscuring your own perspective. Obviously that misses much of the nuance, but that's how I characterize All of Baba's Children and Virtual Clearcut to my students.
